After Sargent - Young Madame X With Original Shoulder Strap

As part of my process, I do studies of paintings of old masters. I'm working on a project involving full length portraits, so this is one from Sargent.

In the original painting, her shoulder strap was off her shoulder like this, and it caused a scandal. It's a much better composition, but he was shamed into changing it.

The original is 24" x 18" brush and sumi ink on paper.
